Brookport IL Tornado 11-17-13 Sunday

The small town of Brookport, IL where my son is a fire man had a Tornado slice through the middle of it yesterday.  Several fatalities.  We could hear the roar of the Tornado at my farm several miles away before we took shelter in a storm cellar.  My current house was about a mile away, no damage.

Sorry no pictures, we stayed out of the way.  The town was road blocked off and had just an incredible response from other townships including the state of KY and other areas.   My son was working in a lot of carnage when KY fire and rescue, ambulances, came rolling across the Ohio river bridge.  They had already lined up on the other side of the river waiting for the call.  Great Community.

I was wondering if you were affected by the tornado Doc. It was just a few miles north of us when it came through KY, but we got lucky and didn't even get any rain here.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of this tragedy. It appears from what was written above that the community came together and this is what matters when difficult times come along. Glad to hear your family is ok.

I hate to hear this, best wishes to everyone affected! Mother natures strength is unbelievable until you see it first hand.

The same system continued on east, missing another riding friend, Probus, place by just a little bit. Then travelled on to Nortonville, hitting the guy that there that we ride with Glenn, not sure about his house, but his sisters house was destroyed just a mile down the road. This is also James or Uncommons mothers house. The house looks like a bomb was exploded from the inside. She was home and thankfully ok. Many here have ridden with James, he has the red and silver RZR.
