Dont be afraid. Just bust out the chop saw, grinder, welder and maybe s tape measure and a good straight edge n a few pairs of vice grips. Then u will need some tubing

To splice the cage back together I know some people use what they cut off the head rest but I went a step farther and just sleeved the top part of the cage with 1.5x.25 tubing. Which may look a little weird in bout 3 inches but I gained strength. I could probably come up with a how to n what not to chop a cage if you'd like Neil.
