I quess I would need to put a "start riding again" before the "planning part" takes effect. I figure about this fall, should be ride ready again.

What really kills me is Pickett, I love Pickett and it is so close to home I am really going to miss it. I would like to do some exploring at Alpine but I hate to post an exploring ride because you never know what we could run into and to many bikes could be aggravating in the instance we have to back track.

Agreed, most of the time its better to do exploring with just a few buggies. If you have more than 3 or 4 then its gets to be a pain trying to get everyone turned around if needed. And personally I hate getting someone in over their head because I dont happen to know how bad or good the terrain is going to be.

I got to do some SUPER exploring yesterday. Just me and one other machine rode. Those dead ends are sometimes cool ones!

This one has really got me. Pickett, Slickford and especially Edward's Mt. is home. I spent a half day or so with Curt and we talked a lot about the area. He seems to hate it as much as the rest of us and I think he made a real effort to try and work something out. I thought there might be a little hope in that maybe they would manage the property for a while and then sell it, but he said they hang on for the long term.....40+ years. Curt said those above him have absolutely no intention of ever opening any of it up, even though they manage some of the Hatfield McCoy properties.

I've seriously contemplated selling my quad since the area is off limits now. Is it worth it to hang on to it for one or two rides a year? Actually, zero rides so far this year and nothing on the horizon.
