Hatfield McCoy AUGUST 2013 500 Miler in 4 Days

We rode 200 miles the first day, 100 miles the second day, trailered up to another ride park, (Rockhouse my favorite trail system), and rode 60  miles, and the final day rode 140 miles for a total count of 500 miles in four days.  About half of the miles was in rain.

We rode all of Pocohonas trail system, be sure and go to the historic town of Bramwell if you ever ride that system, gas and a historic soda fountain ice cream place.  The town had more millionaires than any spot at one point.  Some beautiful historic homes there. We also rode Indian Ridge and Pinnical Creek. We mostly rode the Green and blue and a few black trails.  I would desrcibe the green and the blue trails as well groomed and overall very safe

I rode and camped with a person that I had never met before and we had a great time.  Probably the fastest ATV rider that I have rolled with. He also new the area, trail heads, good restaurants etc.  JMRUBICON trailered in and rode the first day too.

I will add pics and videos as they are completed.  I should have several videos.  A couples ride to Rockhouse is something for future considerations.

This is a good restaurant in Gilbert. Best porkchops ever.

I took the RZR as a back up due to the travel distance.  But the plan was to only ride the Grizzly.  This was a posted ATV ride on Grizzly Central.  The last day after riding a morning loop in Pocohanas, we looped back to the cabin, stopped at the office for something, got on the Grizzly, then I said a brief quiet safety prayer, "Lord thank you for this day, keep us safe....") touched my handle bars and they were loose.  I had not noticed it until then.  They rocked side to side and front and back.  

We went back to the cabin, this was 2 pm in the day, spent about five minutes diagnosing, grabbed the key to the RZR, and the ride was on.  

I could not keep up with Hammerhead on the Grizzly but I could run with him on the RZR.  My only fear was slowing down in the blind spots to keep from killing somebody in a head on.  But we rolled...77 miles.  We went to Mullens and had supper, then rolled back, at the campground gate we had a total of 484 miles, so we had to go get our other 16 to total out at 500 miles.  I have no video of the RZR ride and just not sure if I would publish it anyway. The fastest trail miles that I have put on the machine.

Sounds like a awesome ride. I have been wanting to ride the Hatfield McCoy trails. I like how you can ride into town to eat and get gas.

This last video makes me realize that we probably left everybody cussin us that we met. I can just here them...."them sumbeech's crazy".

What kind of restrictions do they have for atvs?

Hauss, Helmets, goggles, that is about it, oh and a fifty dollar permit.

Well I didn't know if you could run aftermarket pipes, and oversized tires. I know some places have some rules in that stuff.

Maybe a spark arrester, not sure about loud pipes?
