Personally with what I know now I would go with a 700 but my first was a 400.. Mudding the 400 just didn't have the juice so I later purchased a 660.. For a first bike you got to be careful with them no matter which one you purchase.. Good luck!

My 1st ATV was a Yamaha 660 also. It had a couple of issues but a great machine. When the 700 came out with power steering I jumped on that. Had it for 3 years before going over to a Rhino. Yamaha didn't keep up with what I whated and went over to Polaris xp900. Another reason for Yamaha are dealers are every where and parts are available no matter where you may be riding. As then say it better to have the power than not when you need it.

I'd definatly go with iether the 550 or the 700. Yes the 700 sure is nice as far as haivng the extra power, but if you are someone who will never need it, save your money and get the 550. IMO

Got the 700 and a good deal at cool springs motorsports. I got to do a little riding this afternoon , rides very good and seems like a lot of power to me.
