| You know... I used to have a 3" lift and 30" Silverbacks on my 450 Rhino. My buddy has a 6" lift and 29.5" Outlaws on his 700 Rhino.
After the Halloween ride in Alto... if someone was to offer me a free 6" lift...a full spare set of axles...and free labor to install it...I'd pass.
He had some serious problems trying to follow me on even the most basic trails. On a tight technical trail...forget about it. Climbing/descending Helicopter Hill after me...he wouldn't even consider it.
I've even ditched my 3" lift and stepped down to a 2".I like it much better. We ride hard...and sometimes a little faster than we should. I've been known to get the tires off of the ground on occasion. First time I did that with the 3" lift...We had to cripple it back to the trailer and I rode the foreman the rest of the day.
Big lifts are cool to look at...work well for deep water(I've been over 4 feet deep with mine...how deep do you need to go?lol)...and are attention getters. Other than that...I don't see the need.At least not for me.

I tried an RDC lift that only offered about 3/4" lift and at full extension the right rear axle would hit the frame so I went back to stock on the rear and convinced RDC to offer a leveling kit (which I later modified) for the front which offers about 1 3/4" - 2" lift up front. I think this is a good trail setup that offers a level riding stance. Like you I tend to ride faster and harder than I should but that's how I have fun...

| My 3" lift required cutting the rear half of the rear lower shock mounts off. You have to do this to mount the brackets.(poor design IMO). That lift moves the shock to the back of the arm. I had no axle/frame clearance issues at all...just shock breakage issues.
After I decided to switch to a 2" lift...I had to replace the rear lower arms(to get the shock mounts back). I was originally going to use the 2" SuperATV lift that they sent me. Once I examined the lift..I decided that there was no way I was installing this lift.Especially with the way I ride. The rear kit...although it was made of material that in my opinion was way too thin...probably would have worked. The front however...wasn't gonna happen. The material it was made with was less than 1/8" thick...and the front lift attached to the top shock mount. IF...this lift were to fail...the shock would go straight up...through the hood. This was unacceptable.
The CFM lift is way overbuilt...and I like it that way.I'd be more worried about the Rhino breaking...before this lift would fail. And...I have no axle/frame clearance issues with this lift either.
