Wilderness Offroad Park to Evarts KY April 20,2013

Some hard miles rode. Several of us have been wanting to ride from Brimstone to Evarts KY. This ride is the upper half of that ride goal. No flats, no mechanicals, just one reshaped skid bash plate on my RZR from hitting a rock ten minutes from the truck on the way back...combo of dust, fatigue response time, and driving to fast. Will add a picture today.



My home internet is running to slow, maybe work will be better.

JMRubicon, Mudhound, Matt and me did a 14 hour, 132 mile ride Saturday. We started at Martys ATV Oasis and rode to Evarts KY for the Ramp Festival, ate a burger then turned around and rode back. Minimal road riding. I will try and figure out how to link my GPS tracks or Google Earth of where we rode. All outlaw trails.

We start out around 9am eastern ay Marty's ATV Oasis Campground,



cross Wilderness ATV Park hitting speeds up to 40 mph, no one on the trails...go out the backside, cross up towards Hensley settlement, come back out some road, cross highway, go up Blacksnake to Path Fork road??,






come back down to highway, run down and go back up other side of mountain towards Whiterock, turn left at top, do not go to white rock, run the top ridge



till the next go down spot on the left, go down mountain, turn right on highway, turn left at mailboxes, first deer path on right go up there, some bad spots, safer to just run the road, work our way through that, have video...maybe...make it to Caewood, rip on up and over to Evarts...start to record a technical spot on way to Evarts, GoPro Hero3 batteries are dead, been fighting with it locking up all day....forgot and left my Hero at home charging on the computer, no more vids unfortunately past here, just some still shots.

Hungry..hit Dairy Bar for a burger 2:30 eastern. Approximately 70 miles in..Refuel with food and gas..crash Ramp festival



most of the people are out on their organized ride, people are cooking, band is setting up, looked at and smelled a bag of Ramps (wild onions sinus' are now clear from any prior dust...) bought a T-shirt...load and go.



Head up a steep short cut up the mountain...done it before, last time we had one turn over

Some trails are starting to wash out pretty bad and may soon be impassible. We actually met a local on a Rhino, after leaving Evarts coming back down this steep spot that warned us the trail was washed out pretty bad and he had turned around, said to be careful, with serious concern on his face. We made that spot, very steep, JMRubicon, our point person and guide was at the pinnacle with his Honda bucking like a horse, he never let out of the throttle and finally made it. I would have said "nope" right there if I was on the Grizzly, actually had already suggested a turnaround....only 70 miles from the truck.....anyway he makes it...see one do one...rest follows, get to the top, take a break, take a pic, find a Ramp. (JMRubicon soon to be new Dad, calls his wife, "Honey, doing just fine....type conversation...not sure how much detail on that last bucking spot???)





...start working our way to Cawood.

At Cawood, run down highway short piece to the right, turn left at the bridge, run up valley, trail is in serious decline, will wash out soon and be gone. Trail not being used much. We make it to my favorite overlook





that I rode on my first ride to Evarts, take some pics, head out. RIding hard, come to a logging area trails going everywhere, a very picture perfect trail is gone, sad...pass on through...make it to another overlook, more pics, getting dark, start pressing hard heading for home..now this is getting like work. Run the trails all of the way back doubling back on our earlier run, almost back..running at speed in Wilderness ATV Park...I smack a rock, cuss a little, hammer it.....meet a group going 5mph.....they finally let us pass...hit the campground about midnight...help load Matt and JMRubicon....drop the dirty clothes...burger time at Krystals with Mudhound, high school kids there from Prom....dress was memorable, sorry no pics of the dress, will add ride pics and video as I recover.

Maybe this fall....Some of the trails may not be there by this fall. We had previouly discussed doing this Memorial Day weekend with the wives, but all parties were in agreement...this would be a "Bad" idea. Might do half.

Great pics and videos bro! And I second it looks like it is set in wide screen..

this scrunched deal, seems to be a rendering issue transfering wrong to Youtube, I will try and uncheck some speed accelerators in my cyberlink software, may upgrade, the simple cure is to add yt:stretch=16:9 in the tags and this will fix or at least improve a vid already done.
