My thought was the same that 14" rims was the only way to to solve the problem, my other thought was an offset rim might improve this, that is why I raised the question, thanks for responding.

For clarification, on the front rim of the RZR 800S, the brake caliper is very close to the rim, so any mud or rocks stuck on the inside of the rim creates a scraping action on the inside of the rim, both my front rims have significant scarring and the rim has been worn down significantly.

I don't think an offset rim is the answer, to get the offset needed to clear the caliber the machine would be extremely wide and this would be very very hard on bearings/etc and then the wheel would not offer any protection to the axle boot, caliber, and other components. My front wheels had several scratches but nothing to deep but I only have 300 miles on it. I will keep an eye on this but I feel the only way to cure the problem would be 14" wheels. There is a slight up side to it being so close, with the tight tolerances the brake caliper acts as a wheel scraper cleaning mud from the wheel and not letting it stick to the inside of the wheel saving rolling weight on a muddy ride. Very Happy

Nice! If you decide to sell your old tires, let me know and one of my buddies might pick them up.

Doing a little maintenance.
Changed plugs (to ngk, not big on champion)
changed engine oil+filter
Changed tranny oil
Changed transfer case oil
Changed rear diff oil
changed front diff oil
And greased all grease zerks.

I want to know why in the world we cant use one oil for every thing. It took four different kinds of oil to conquer this task..

The only good thing about the oil layout is that your engine oil is separate from everything else and won't shear down as much from the gears in the transmission/transfer case. I'm currently running Amsoil 0w40 to see how it copes with shearing. So far I've tested factory oil and Rotella T6 and both haven't done very well.

Yea I love it all being separate but it would be nice if it wasn't all a different kind.. lol

I actually think my diffs, transfer case, and transmission all had the same oil in them but they are all suppose to be different and now they are as recommended in the owners manual..

I have three different type of oil in mine front diff, motor, and rear diff. I guess each one has it's own need.

I understand why but it would be nice if they were the same.. I do like how the RZR has the engine, the transfer case, and transmission separated so if one messes up the shaving don't get into the other.. I got to give the engineers at Polaris a one up for that one.. I think the engineering is a lot better than the quality control during assembly!

On another note I did find I could get the cargo area off without removing the cage extension but the rear diff fill plug was a little aggravating to get to with the cage extension on. I used a 3/8 ratchet with a 1.5" extension to get to the fill plug and it worked.

After putting everything back together last night we rode it for about an hour until I finally told tyhe twins the neigbors were going to have to go to bed (around 10:30) and i noticed a vibration I had not noticed before. This morning we pulled the rear skid back off to find it was now hitting the lowest point of the tranny, the drain plug. There was no hole for this drain so I pulled the drill and put a 1" hole for this plug so it would clear. Put it all back together and rode for a couple hours with no more vibrations! lol Then we removed the top half of the windshield getting it ready for this warmer weather..

Also cleaned it up and installed the Lock and Ride Cargo box... Time to add some tools..

with the water pump still leaking the dealer said ride it a few hundred miles and see if it stops and if not they will put in a new shaft and seal..

Me and the kids have been riding and working.. with 575 miles on the bike we where getting a few squeaks so we pulled the shocks and regreased them for the second time to find I should have done it sooner on the fronts.. The way the front shock bushings are designed it looks like I will need to pull them ever couple hundred miles and regrease them.. The rears where a little better shape.. Also pulled the front axles again to find the splines where dry again, looks like I will need to do this ever couple hundred miles also..

Also got the HighLifter forward arched a-arms and arched rear lowers and got them installed this week. The rear's where real simple but between chasing the kids and installing the fronts it took a little time.. lol Both lower balljoints where loose so I replaced them and the right side bushings with QuadBoss replacements..

We also got some new QuadBoss bar stools for the Garage since with the RZR me and the kids are spending a lot more time in the garage... lol

Still have the bumper but I think it is spoken for.. Yea the RacerTech bumper is a lot heavier built bumper. I have several of their items and like them all.. I think I am going to get their duel rate springs also.

I have their springs. I really like the dual rate. Mine are only dual rate in the back since it's a 50" RZR. Andy at Racer Tech is good to work with and will trade out springs if you think you need a stiffer or lighter spring.

Mine was still fairly tight except for the brake pedal and if tightened it back up. I greased everything real good while I had it a part so it should be good for a while.

Last week I got a call from the guys at Cognito and was told they where working on a new sway and they ask if I would be interested in helping test one and although I normally do not run a sway bar I could not say no.. I got it installed and did a little riding around here in the creek and on the roads. So far I can see where the sway bar helps at speed but it does ride a little rougher that without one at all.. The Cognito bar is a solid bar which is a smaller diameter than the stock hollow tube.

This sway bar is suppose to be a little softer than the stock bar but new I found it to be a little firmer than stock, not much but slightly. I did an articulation test with a jack under the left rear and jacked the bike up till the left front was slightly off the ground to find the "Stock" sway bar measuring from the lower left rear shock bolt center measured 22.5" and with the Cognito bar measured 22.25 on the softer setting and 21.9 on the firmest setting (the Cognito bar is adjustable by the way). After I get a few miles on this thing I will retest to see the difference.
