PostSubject: Re: New RZR 800 S   New RZR 800 S - Page 2 EmptyFri Oct 12, 2012 11:00 pm

Finished EMP bumper today, looooooks goooooooood.........RZR is starting to man up.

had to tweak the radiator hose, spoke to EMP about it, they were very interested in a resolution. They asked for some pics so I sent some. This is something new with the 2013's

Matt, I will finish the winch, emp 4 panel switch, Rigid Dually lights this sunday. Ordered a pelter brake pedal deal, but the order got fouled up, the dealer was very kind and apolgetic, order label was stuck on the back of a book.....sounds like something that I would do, but canceled that and went with EMP's version.

Going to get muddy tomorow, no way around it. Wife is going.

Good video KYKodiak, you had it going on, working the cameras, front and back, lollipops for the young one, and driving the RZR......lol.

At the 4.44 my wife is covering her eyes when we went through some narrow trees.....lol.....she did better as the day went on and was just closing her eyes and sucking in air, making herself thinner.

My wife and I had a great day, only exchanged words a little first thing that morning in the truck when she handed me a coke and had not put the cap back on tight....and I set it down on my jacket and it spilled all over the place.....lol.

The other Black and silver razor is my good riding friend and his wife. He will be at the Hollercrawler ride with us this friday and saturday.

Here is KYKodiak video, I am in the blue RZR behind him.

Finished the winch, took me about 12 hours, but I am learning the RZR. I wrapped everything, was careful on routing and placement of all my wiring, I hope....

Added a 100 amp in line breaker, may be two big, but that was the smallest O'Rileys had, cost around 30 bucks, suppose to be water proof.

The EMP 4 switch panel also runs through this.

To Do List: before ride this coming weekend: finish tieing wire up in the floorboard, tighten up bolts on switch panel, hook up Rigid Duallie lights. Wished I had a storage box of some kind.

KYKodiak, where did you find those storage boxes that you had? Seem to fit and work pretty good.

Here are a pic of the tree kickers that I bought from Rocky Racing? will edit it right, out of Leitchfield, KY. I really like these, well made, and my 1st place mod choice so far. I encouraged the owner to join us.

EMP bumper, which required a lower radiator hose mod. The arm brace pushed against the hose. I went to ORileys and bought another lower drain hose and added about a half inch making it taller, cost 12 bucks, all good. RedRzr texted me through watching the burping on radiator refill. No problems.....

I had called EMP about the issue, they called me back but I already had it resolved. This is something with some of the 2013's. Looked like to me somebody cut the hose a little shorter. I sent them pics as requested, and appreciated their concern.

Here is a pic of the front A-arm skids from PRM. I bought the .190 thickness, trying to balance prevention of mud biuld up and still having the arms protected for boulders out east. So far, consider this a very well made product, no rattles and mounts up very good.

I forgot to mention, the OEM front a-arms, I just had to take off. Redrzr and the dealership owner told me not to buy them.. they are for sale 100 bucks (and they are not worth it).

Picture of the mid skids made by Proarmour, so far I am satisfied with these, they fit the other. Rocky Racing had one that I should have bought, just wasnt sure at the time. I have ordered the front and rear skids.

EMP just called they are remaking the rear mount on the front bumper to accomodate the 2013 as I type, this should be resolved for all future orders. They offered to send me the new one. That is good service.

finished the Rigid Dullies D2 install, only blew 3 fuses...not my fault, directions were wrong on how to reconnect the toggle. Black blue red on mine, correct version, directions said red was in the middle.

Wife and i survived our first real ride at Bell County this weekend rode around 200 miles. We had a good time, I made some noob mistakes.....

Mistake # 1:

Trying to clear a boulder field on a hill, I get hung going up, and backing down, now I have done this without incident on the Grizz several times. Me and Polaris having a conversation about now..... I finally get unhung and start a new line...with spotter.... and throttle down and bounce up......2 miles on further up the mountain, I realize that I was in TWO WHEEL DRIVE.

Mistake # 2, darn gauge was creeping up, temp gauge had been going to 209 then kicking on dropping down to 190 or so, so after I had pounded it over the bad spot, the gauge is going up 209.1,,,209.2....209.3.....on up to 212.9....never did go down, we get to the top....start looking for leaks, mud packed radiator, let it cool down, start it up, still there 212.9....my buddy is like..the gauge is broke, there is no way, bath water will not even stay warm that long.....so I got to looking....had it set on MILES......not temperature...
TIP: temp gauge does not do tenths....

Mistake #3, actually happened first this day, so should have been mistake # 1...every rock that I went over I was bottoming out, I was thinking..well I did not wash it..maybe full of mud...but me and Polaris was having a conversation again, my Grizz would clear all of these little rocks.....eventually stopped to look under the RZR, and discovered that I had left the 4" drop hitch on, that I use to secure when trailering.

All in all, we had a great ride, aside from human error the RZR did great and was a lot of fun. The wife is ready to go again.

It was great to see you DrMud and finally meet Mrs Mud! I'd like to get a ride in with your RZR and my Teryx 4 sometime, maybe without my little copilot so i cliff pick up the pace a little more. We had a great time this weekend, Josh loved the ride and hung in great for such a long day. Can't wait to go out again with him!
