Welcome!!
Brimestone is an awesome place to ride. It gets technical, so make sure you use good judgement!

Thanks
We got a lesson in This is not the Swamp any more when we went to HMT and hooked up with some locals that took us through Rock House and then off piste iin Rock House. It was an adventure for sure.....
We do not have anything technical here in Florida at all You are either in the swamp or in Sugar Sand in Ocala State Forrest. Thats why we are alos seeking local knowledge or someone to ride with I looked at the rock climbing from some of the videos Trail 5 i think That looks pretty special!!
Thank you again for youre advice We will proceed to err on the side of easy

The riding is 100% free up near to Middlesboro KY. I guide free rides all the time. Plus, there are a host of other guides up there too.

Wow Thanks everyone
You certainly have many options to ride up in that area. I think we are still going to shoot for a ride at Brimestone on that Thursday before all heck breaks loose overthere due to the White Knuckle Event. Again if anyone is heading that way Thursday of May 24th we would love some company. We are strong riders with limited exposure to rock crawling (not much of that around here!)
Where is the trail system in Overton?? Perhaps we can make the run over there... We are just so used to hauling our machines 5 hours away 1.5 hours is nothing if the riding is good.
Again my many thanks to those that gave a shout out on the board If any of you want to ride some sand in January of February we would be more than glad to show you around Ocala

Take your regular ride crew, spot each other in the bad spots, you guys will have fun, if it looks to bad, don't do it. Stay off of the Y trails, Y stands for Y are we on this trail, run the greens and the blues, if that goes well throw in some reds.
Just found this on Youtube, 87Y, reason to stay off Y trails.

The key to a good ride in the mountains is making sure that you are not the worse rider there....lol. Here is our crew going through the woods at Brimstone on Day 1. By Day 2, we were doing a lot better. We had fun.

If you're interested in the ride here in overton county then we meet in the city of Livingston. You can mapquest it to get an idea of where it is. The trails we ride are only about 10 minutes outta town. There will be nothing as technical as what Dr. Mudd posted on trail5 at Brimstone. The technical stuff is here but we can avoid it. The trails are mainly old county roads than run through private property that has stayed open to offloading. They also connect to Alpine WMA. You can look up some video posts of that and hickory flats to get an idea of types of trails it is. If you think you wanna join us I can give you more precise directions on where to meet us. You're more than welcome to join us and we will help you through any sticky situations if needed
