Cheap Fog light mounts Empty
PostSubject: Cheap Fog light mounts   Cheap Fog light mounts EmptyFri Jul 24, 2009 8:00 pm

I have been looking at fog light mounts for a while now, wondering what would be the best. But they are so expensive I decided to make my own. I first thought I would weld some tabs to the front bumper of my rhino but then I got to thinking I would rather have something I could easily remove if I wanted.
Recently I went to the local hardware store to get some 1.5 inch(which they make in several different sizes) conduit hangers I placed one of them on the bumper and it was a perfect fit other than the lower portion where the bolts go hitting my bumper cover so I took my grinder and ground an 1/8 inch or so off the conduit hangers to clear. Next I washed the hangers in paint thinner to clean then off. Then I dipped then in some black plasti-dip that I purchased at the local napa auto parts store. I mounted mine on my front bumper but these mounts should work on almost any part of the factory cage.
Hope this helps someone save some cash.

Thanks bro I was looking for something easy where I would not have to weld to the bumper and these worked great..

Ok...now I feel dumb.
I've been an Electrician for 20 years...
I probably have 10 or so of several different sizes of those on my van right now...
and never thought of using them like that.
Cool Idea!!!
